Scam Alert
Thier is a guy going around posing as an ATI employee, he says he works for ATI and that he has access to give you a free GW account. He askes for your email (one that your main account is active with), then later asks for your email password (he claims ati needs your password to verify crap) Then he takes your email, and GW account, and whatever else he can.
Ive had one friend be scammed by this, then aimed by who i thought was my friend (later found out that my friend was scammed <3 grotto peoples) And had the same story, that "my friend" worked for ATI, and could give me an account blah blah (i thought it was fishy from the start) so i let him continue untill he asked for my password, then gave him a HUGE ear full.
Just thought i would give you a heads up/warning for thos who dont know.
Sakora

No offense to you or your friend, but I think you'd have to be pretty dumb to fall for this...NOTHING requires your email password, except, well your email..

But I'm not saying anyone who falls for it deserves it...In fact I'd ask you to PM me his name so I can yell at him in game just cuz I feel like yelling at someone, but I realize that could get me banned myself

Wouldn't work. Assuming this guy isn't as moronic as the people he fleeces, he'll be moving between accounts as he acquires them, using one account to gain another then bleeding the original account dry.

Jerks rely on arrogance; superficiality is their fuel.
P.S. Sakora, sorry your friend fell for it. If it was someone trustable, the scam seems perfectly plausable. I would think nothing of giving my password to several of my friends because I have confidence that they're trustable.

In person? Over Ventrilo/TeamSpeak? In situations where you know the trustee's identity, I can see this holding water. But giving your password out to someone communicating over pure text, on the Internet? Moronic. That's common sense speaking, not arrogance.

It's not really an alert There are scammers everywhere. Can't be avoided. If someone falls for it, oh well. They will learn from their mistakes.

No no, you don't get it. We can't avoid them, because they are THERE already. Not the ACTUAL talking to the scammer. And you don't have to be a dumbass to fall for something from a scammer. That's kind of rude actually. My 8 year old brother started playing, and he's been scammed a bit, and was hoping that there would be nicer people online. If it's someones first time playing, understandable that some people just want things to get done, be more powerful faster. People who have never been doing online games before, sometimes just don't know what scamming is.
Of course common sense can really answer it all, but we all make mistakes, eh?

Explain being a dumbass. Does it mean that not knowing means someone is being a dumbass? Does it mean that someone who hasn't been exposed and not been experienced mean that person is a dumbass?
